The oil change is the one job every Agility 50 owner should do themselves — ten minutes, basic tools, and the engine's most important maintenance done. The Agility uses a washable oil filter screen rather than a cartridge, so the parts list below is short: the screen and its spring if yours is damaged, and the drain-plug assembly if its sealing face has seen too many reuses.

The job, step by step

  1. Warm the engine, then park on the center stand. A few minutes of idling thins the oil so it drains fully; level ground matters for the dipstick reading later.
  2. Drain the oil. Pan under the drain plug at the bottom of the crankcase, remove the plug, let it drain completely. Inspect the plug's sealing surface — replace the assembly if it's scarred from reuse.
  3. Clean the oil screen. Pull the screen, wash it in clean solvent, and inspect the mesh — a torn screen is a replacement, not a cleaning. Check the screen spring while it's out.
  4. Refill and check the level. Reinstall the plug, refill with the oil grade and quantity from your owner's manual, verify on the dipstick with the scooter level, then run the engine briefly and check again.
  5. Check for leaks. A short ride, then a look at the drain plug and screen cap. Done.

Torque values and oil capacity are in your owner's manual — they vary by model year, and guessing torque on an aluminum crankcase is how threads strip.
