KYMCO Variator Rollers — Roller Weight Sets by Model
KYMCO variator rollers (the factory calls them roller weight sets) are what turn engine speed into forward motion on every belt-driven KYMCO. As the rollers wear flat, the variator stops shifting cleanly — take-off gets jerky, cruising RPM creeps up, and top speed drops even with a fresh belt. This guide lists every OEM roller weight set in our catalog; the set size and gram weight are part of the factory name (for example “1SET:6PCS 6.5G”).

Stock weight or tuned weight?
The factory gram weight is chosen for the whole package — belt, clutch spring, and engine torque curve. Lighter rollers give snappier acceleration but raise cruising RPM and fuel use; heavier ones do the opposite. Fit the OEM weight first: if a worn set was your problem, stock rollers restore the machine to how it left the factory.
How to confirm fitment for your exact model
Model names repeat across years and regions, so the safest way to order the right roller weight set is to confirm it on your model's own diagram:
- Find your vehicle on the All Models page — or decode your VIN with the VIN lookup to land on the exact model-year variant.
- Open the drivetrain or engine diagram for your model (the exploded views mirror KYMCO's factory fiche).
- Check that the part number on the diagram matches the one in the chart above, then order straight from the part page.
If a part number has been superseded, the part page shows the replacement — you will always receive the current factory part.
Replace rollers and belt together
Rollers and the drive belt live in the same case and wear on the same schedule — if one is due, the other usually is too. While the variator is apart, check the slide pieces (the plastic guides that rattle when worn); they cost little and cure most variator clatter.
